CEITEC Coordination Board (principal management body of the Centre) meeting was held on 14 December in Brno. The primary goal of this board meeting was to provide regular quarterly update to the CB members and to approve key documents – Activity Plan of the Project for 2012, Common Evaluation of Scientific Excellence and common rules and policies. Coordination Board approved all negotiated documents on this meeting.

CEITEC – Central European Institute of Technology, www.ceitec.eu, is a project focused on the establishment of a European centre of excellence in the area of life sciences and advanced materials and technologies. The project is implemented by a consortium of universities and research institutes based in Brno, Czech Republic, led by Masaryk University.
The main management figure of the new centre will be the Executive Director. more »

The European Commission has approved the project to set up a centre of scientific excellence CEITEC (Central European Institute of Technology) in Brno. Therefore CEITEC is the first finally approved project of a centre of scientific excellence in the Czech Republic. The recipient of the grant in the amount of 5.2 billion crowns from the Operational Programme Research and Development for innovation from European Structural Funds is Masaryk University which submitted the project together with Brno University of Technology and other Brno universities and research institutes. The centre will focus on the research and development in biomedicine and advanced materials and technology.

The first official meeting of CEITEC International Scientific Advisory Board will be held from 20th to 21st June. It is the highest scientific advisory body of the project and its members are foreign representatives of significant science institutes. International experts and scientists from CEITEC will discuss the plans of research activities for the next period. The Research Programme coordinators will also introduce the research programmes which they are managing to the members of the Board.
