  • 11. 11. 2009 The CEITEC project preparation is finished and the leadership are now submitting the application to the Ministry of Education

    The project preparations for the Central European Institute of Technology (CEITEC) in Brno have been successfully completed.  The project application, totalling more than 3000 pages, was handed over by the project leaders on Friday 13th November for approval by the Ministry of Education.  Universities and the institutes of the Academy of Sciences are applying for a grant of 6.53 billion crowns from the European Program, “The Research and Development for Innovations Operational Programme

  • The Universities have agreed on the next approach in the preparation of the CEITEC project

    Masaryk University and Brno University of Technology have agreed on the next approach in the preparation of the Central European technology institute (CEITEC). The aim of the project is to create the best conditions and environment for the development of research into Biotechnology, advanced materials and technology. A framework agreement of cooperation, proposes the Masaryk University shoud be the main beneficiary of the grant on condition of an equal partnership with the Brno Technical University, both Rectors signed the agreement on 3rd March 2009.

  • Lecture by prof. Yoshio Nishi “Stanford Nanofabrication Facilities and CEITEC”

    On Thursday 5th of February 2009 in Brno, a lecture was given by the world-renowned expert in the field of nanotechnoloty, prof. Yoshio Nishi. Prof. Nishi has many years of experience with the issues of research and running a multi-function laboratory in the field of nanotechnology, for these reasons he was invited by the creators of the CEITEC project, so that he could present his lecture, “Stanford Nanofabrication Facilities and CEITEC”. In his presentation prof. Nishi presented how the Stanford Nano Fabrication Facility is run, introducing possible good practices, which could be implemented in the running of the CEITEC project.

  • Conference “European research infrastructure for innovation: strategies, models of management and financing of research centres”

    Conference “European research infrastructure for innovation: strategies, models of management and financing of research centres” on the 15th January 2009 respresentatives from the CEITEC project attended a conferences organised by Wroclaw Research Centre EIT+. The aim of the conference was to discuss and exchange experiences regarding management and models of operation of large investment projects in the field of R&D, which are (or will be) financed by the EU Structural fund, and to present opportunities to develop new technologies and innovations in nanotechnology and biomaterials.

  • Brussels hosted the Brno Universities’ project

    Science and Research in Brno have a future. „Research and Development and Universities as Engines of Regional Competitiveness”, which, in Brussels on the 3. 12. 2008, was organised by the biggest Universities from Brno and EU representatives of South Moravia and Brno.
