- Why is such a large project being implemented?
The Operation Program R&D for Innovation, priority axis 1 – Centre of Excellence is designed for large projects. Small projects are not accepted. Given that this is a scientific centre, which should reach a global importance, it would not be possible to implement it to a lesser extent.
- Why does the project have such a large number of partners?
Centres of Excellence provide the statute that top science that can only arise when collaboration more diversified institutions. Brno city can boast of its uniqueness, which is given by the concentration of diverse higher education and scientific work in such a range, which can be found only in few places around the world. It would be a pity not to utilise the scientific potential, which is available in South Moravia. The more partners, the greater the likelihood of synergy and excellence.
- How are the legal issues of the CEITEC project covered?
With the emergence of the CEITEC institution a new legal entity will be created, which will be managed by common institutions.
- How will the CEITEC project by financed?
The source of financing of the project CEITEC is 100% the EU Structural Funds, through the Operational Program Research and Development for Innovations, Priority axis 1-Center of Excellence
- Where is the CEITEC building planned?
CEITEC is scheduled to be built half at the University Campus Bohunice and at Brno University of Technology Campus, Pod Palackeho Vrchem, Brno, Kralovo Pole. Laboratories in the campus should focus on science and medicine and may benefit from being near to the Faculty Hospital in Brno and the biomedical incubator. In the Pod Palacky Vrch are will be a centre of material science and advanced technology. Both parts will operate as inter-disciplinary scientific workplaces used throughout the university
