For a hundred students and experts from around the world, CEITEC Brno University of Technology is preparing a twelve-day program to mark the thirteenth edition of the European School on Magnetism, which includes lectures by renowned experts, workshops, practicals in labs, as well as exploring Brno and its surroundings.

CEITEC BUT won the school's first public tender, where several other prestigious European research institutions applied. The jury was particularly impressed by the modern facilities of CEITEC Nano Research Infrastructure, which is one of the largest of the core facillities its kind in the Czech Republic with its clean rooms located on the "Pod Palackého vrchem" campus. “The equipment and technology of our research infrastructure will benefit the entire event. We can offer a large number of practical demonstrations and exercises in the field of modern research methods of magnetism. The theme of experimental technique was directly offered, ” said Michal Urbánek, head of CEITEC Nano, who is the main organizer of the school.

As in previous years, which took place for example in France, Romania or Poland, the school will focus on a wide range of topics in the field of magnetism - from basic lectures to the latest knowledge focusing on current trends in the field. “The school is for young scientists, especially doctoral students, postdocs, experimenters and theorists. It is a unique opportunity to meet important scientists in contemporary research, it will also provide a space for discussion and networking. In addition, each participant will gain access to a library of publications related to magnetism research and will have the opportunity to meet business representatives and start-ups from the industry, ” added Vojtěch Uhlíř, Research Group Leader of the Nanomagnetism and spintronics and co-organizer. The school will take place September 2 - 13, 2019.
