The Director of Central European Institute of Technology

(CEITEC MU) opens a position





CELLIM – Cellular Imaging Core Facility is a light microscopy facility of CEITEC MU. Main role is to provide access to state-of-the-art light microscopy techniques and instruments, together with user training and support during all steps of imaging experiment. More information about facility can be found at Currently, we are looking for image analysis specialist, who would be responsible for developing and performing image analysis tasks for facility users.

-          Developing, performing and teaching basic and advanced image analysis tasks: image segmentation, objects detection & classification, feature extraction using variety of analytical tools, such an IMARIS, FIJI/ImageJ, Cell Profiler, Matlab

-          Writing customized tools in ImageJ/Matlab/Python

-          Teaching image analysis methods on workshops and courses organized by CELLIM

-          Maintaining facility computers



·         Master degree in bioinformatics, or related field

·         Good knowledge of image processing methods and algorithms

·         Experience with image analysis software such as Imaris, ImageJ/Fiji, CellProfiler, ZEN, Matlab and programming languages (Python, R, Java)

·         Ability to work in service oriented mode

·         Willing of learning microscopy; previous experience with microsopy is an advantage

·         Keeping up to date with new methods of image analysis methods/tools

·         Excellent inter-personal and communication skills

·         Good communication in English language
