Junior Researcher positions: Advanced polymers and composites
Research Group Advanced polymers and composites is seeking an outstanding candidates for the academic position of a Junior Researcher/Assistant Professor in the area of hierarchically architected polymer composite meta-materials.
The candidates must have a strong track record in publications and funding with the ability for a teamwork and independent and creative thinking. Over the last few years, meta-materials with unnatural optical and acoustic properties have attracted attention of scientific community with implications for multiple industrial areas. Future adaptive meta-materials require synergic combination of mechanical robustness with adaptability programmed on the level of structural building blocks. The selected candidates will focus on developing this field, focusing on designing and assembling scalable techniques allowing fabrication of functional, mechanically robust meta-materials by rapid, hierarchical assembly of multiscale building blocks into function specifically architected structures.
The successful candidates should have a strong background in polymer physics, additive fabrication, polymer synthesis, rheology, composite mechanics and fundamentals of photonics. Their main responsibility will be to conduct own meta-material oriented research, participate on the research group efforts to design unique structure-property-function experiments, fabricate lightweight, mechanically robust structures and characterize acoustic and photonic properties of these meta-material structures and perform computer modelling and simulations. Further, the candidates will assist Ph.D. and Master students as well as contributing to preparation of contract research projects and grant proposals.
The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. degree in relevant fields and should demonstrate:
Interested candidates should provide:
