Research group description:

Plant Sciences Core Facility is an open CEITEC laboratory providing access to the research infrastructure for basic plant growth, environmental simulation and phenotyping analyses. The core facility operates 15 fully controlled walk-in growth chambers (phytotrons) and 10 greenhouses to provide defined environment for controlled plant growing.

Job description:

We are looking for a highly motivated colleague to fill the position of laboratory technician. Good interpersonal skills and basic knowledge of English are required. You will be involved in daily management of the laboratory, purchasing consumables and services, taking care of experimental plants, performing pest control and waste management. You will be required to operate a plant phenotyping cabinet, communicate with users and provide users with data.

  • Basic understanding of the theoretical and technical principles of plant biology
  • Self-organized and independent working style within a team
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
  • Basic command of English (spoken and written) is required, Czech skills are an asset
  • Friendly, collaborative mindset and the ability to interact professionally with our users and suppliers
  • Practical experience in cultivation of plants and pest control (insects, fungi) is welcome
