About the position:

We are looking for a highly motivated colleague for the position of laboratory technician in Demo lab https://demolab.ceitec.cz/. Experience in the field of transcription and translation, as well as work with microorganisms and mammalian cell lines is required. An advantage is the ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships, a basic knowledge of English and the ability to communicate in the Czech language. The successful candidate will be involved in the day-to-day run of the laboratory, purchasing instrumentation and chemicals, and performing laboratory activities involving the production and purification of RNA polymerases and ribosomes. Work with certain bacterial strains and viruses in BSL2 mode will also be required.

What will your daily tasks include?

  • work with microorganisms, molecular cloning, transformation of E. coli, production of virus-infected mammalian lines
  • preparation of buffers and media
  • passaging of mammalian cell lines
  • daily operation of the laboratory
  • purchase of equipment and chemicals

Requirements

  • MSc/PhD education in the field (biochemistry, molecular biology, chemistry and similar)
  • previous experience in a biological and biochemical laboratory (work with mammalian cell lines and biophysical methods is an advantage)
  • good knowledge of the English and Czech languages, spoken and written
  • reliability, diligence, team spirit and willingness to learn new methods and experiments
  • computer literacy, MS-Word, Excel
  • high motivation and flexibility
