Job description

Research Interests: My research has so far primarily focused on motor learning and social-cognitive functions.  Within the motor learning area I am interested in all kinds of online and offline modulators, especially those from the psychosocial domain. My research in social cognition is focused on social perception and underlying brain processes and networks. I am developing experimental paradigms for functional neuroimaging studies to investigate how people process ambiguous interpersonal stimuli, aiming to reveal what brain dynamics lies behind biased judgements in social perception.

Dissertation thesis: Behavioural aspects and neural substrates of neuropsychiatric disorders with emphasis on social cognition.

Supervisor: Prof. MUDr. Martin Bareš, Ph.D

Projects:

  • Cerebellum, cognitive dysfunction, and motor control and time estimation mechanisms in dystonia and schizophrenia.

Movement sequencing and perception of time, that influences the initiation of movement are associated with morphological, functional and neuropsychological deviations in neuronal networks comprising the cerebellum in comparison to healthy subjects.

External collaboration:

  • Ovidiu Lungu - Department of Psychiatry, Université de Montréal, Montréal, Canada

Bio: I graduated from Masaryk University at the Faculty of Social Studies with a Master’s degree in psychology. Now I am a Ph.D. student of the neuroscience program at the Faculty of Medicine (Masaryk University). I am also working as a specialist at CEITEC (Masaryk University).
