Since the second half of 2017, the cooperation of the Institute of Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic and the Institute of Materials Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic with NenoVision Ltd. started successfully, starting with the Central European Institute of Technology CEITEC.

"We are collaborating on the development of LiteScope, a compact atomic force microscope, which opens up new possibilities for studying materials," says Luboš Náhlík, a member of the Academic Council responsible for the coordination of knowledge transfer.

Researchers use LiteScope to carry out their own research activities, while working closely with NenoVision in Brno to improve device features and extend its capabilities to other modes. The revolutionary microscopic method allows the proprietary CPEM (Correlative Probe and Electron Microscopy) CPEM technology developed by NenoVision.

By various probes, it is now possible to examine the surface of samples in 3D, to study its mechanical or electrical properties, chemical composition or magantic properties. Advantages not only in basic research but also in industrial laboratories or in quality control, where small surface structures, topography, surface roughness or contamination need to be well recognized.

"The academic workplace has acquired a modern 3D surface characterization tool and the emerging NenoVision, a company from Brno, offers expert input from scientists with many years of experience in the study of physical properties of materials in all scales, from macroscopic to nanostructure properties," adds Nablk.

For its outstanding features, LiteScope was awarded, among other things, with a gold medal at the International Engineering Fair in Brno in 2016.
