Archaeogenetics

Archaeogenetics uses genetic information obtained from the remains of humans and other organisms to explore the past. Ancient DNA analysis can reveal biological relatedness, the origins and movements of past populations, and contacts between them. Combined with archaeological and historical evidence, it helps us reconstruct population processes and relationships that often cannot be captured through traditional sources alone.
