About event
The auxin signalling pathway is conserved from bryophytes to angiosperms and acts as a key regulator of plant development. What, however, is its evolutionary origin? Although the canonical auxin perception machinery is absent in algae, auxin transporters as well as the compound itself are present. This lecture will summarize our research on the role of auxin in the closest algal relatives of land plants, including the highly complex stoneworts (Chara).
