Bio
Lukáš Trantírek leads the Non-coding Genome research group at CEITEC Masaryk University. His research focuses on exploring the parts of human DNA that help cells regulate when and how certain genes should be switched on or off and maintain the stability of genetic information. To analyse DNA structure directly inside living cells, he uses advanced nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) techniques. His work significantly contributes to the more effective development of new drugs and a deeper understanding of the molecular mechanisms behind genetic diseases.
In 2021, he was awarded the prestigious Rudolf Lukeš Prize for the development of in-cell NMR technology.
Previously, he conducted research in the field of cellular signalling at Utrecht University in the Netherlands.
