Economist for the Materials for Additive Manufacturing subgroup

Requirements

  •     Minimum secondary education with a high school diploma in economics, finance, accounting, or a related field.
  •     Knowledge of spoken and written English. Communication will take place in both Czech and English on a daily basis.
  •     Previous experience in grant accounting, project budgeting, and financial reporting in a research or academic environment is an advantage.
  •     Financial management skills: budget monitoring and reporting.
  •     Knowledge of Czech and European financial/accounting regulations is an advantage.
  •     Practical knowledge of MS Excel and SAP accounting software.
  •     Attention to detail and accuracy when working with financial and administrative data.
  •     Ability to work in a team with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a bridge between economic department and research group, fostering mutual understanding.
  • Help prepare economic sections of progress reports and final deliverables.
  • Monitor expenses and cost eligibility according to BUT and Grant Provider rules.
  • Ensure compliance with financial and administrative regulations and applicable related legislation.
  • Ensure smooth coordination of project audits and evaluations.
  • Assist in drafting budgets, cost planning, and financial monitoring for national and EU-funded projects.
  • Ensure the economic operation of the subgroup, i.e. issue orders, liquidate invoices, manage assets, keep a record of petty cash, travel orders, etc.
  • Act as a liaison between the economic department and the research subgroup, as well as between the group management and the subgroup, including the transfer of information and documents. In her/his work, she/he reports to the group's chief economist.

Other information about the position

  • Place of work: CEITEC VUT, Purkyňova 123, Brno.
  • Work in office and general science laboratiories.
  • Start date: By agreement (immediate start possible).
  • Part-time position, expected 0.5 FTE – work schedule by agreement.
