About event
The Casein kinase 1 (CK1) family of serine/threonine protein kinases consists of seven isoforms present in human. CK1 family members are significant regulators of multiple developmental signaling cascades, including the Wnt signaling pathway. CK1 isoforms have been proposed to control several key regulatory nodes of Wnt/β-catenin canonical and Wnt/β-catenin non-canonical signaling branches. In my talk, I will discuss how the specificity/redundancy in one kinase family is achieved, how CK1 kinases are regulated and how these studies lead us to propose completely new concept of protein phosphorylation.
