We perform accelerated ageing and weathering tests to evaluate the ability of materials and products to retain their expected functionality throughout their service life. The testing is intended primarily for plastics, composites, and compounds, including structural, high-performance, and automotive components.

Method

The tests are used to estimate the expected service life of products, compare quantitative and qualitative differences between materials, coatings, and products, and verify the compliance of plastic products with corporate and international standards defining resistance to heat and UV radiation. Laboratory simulations of outdoor and indoor climatic conditions allow precise control of testing parameters such as radiation wavelength range, radiation intensity, temperature, and humidity. The tests are performed in accordance with recognized accelerated ageing standards for automotive materials, including SAE J2020, SAE J1885, SAE J1960, ISO 4892-2, VDA 75202, PV3929, and PV3930, as well as the requirements of major automotive manufacturers. Depending on the product type and its intended application, different accelerated exposure regimes may be applied, and testing procedures can be tailored to specific customer requirements.

Equipment

Testing is carried out using state-of-the-art Weather-Ometer Ci4000 and Q-Sun Xe-1 chambers, which enable controlled laboratory simulation of long-term exposure to solar radiation, temperature, and humidity.
