Our research group focuses primarily on providing insights into current developments in science, as well as conducting research and development across a broad range of topics in transportation (the aerospace and automotive industries), energy, biomaterials, and electronics. The research group responds to the growing global demand for high-quality multidisciplinary research and excellence in research outcomes. We address these demands both through fundamental research and applied research, supported by long-term collaborations with leading industrial partners. Our long-term focus is on pushing the boundaries of multidisciplinary research and delivering outstanding results at both the national and international levels.
Jozef Kaiser has been working at Brno University of Technology since 2001. Since 2011, he has been the Head of the X-ray Micro- and Nanotomography Research Group at CEITEC Brno University of Technology, where he focuses on the development of advanced X-ray imaging methods and their applications in materials research.
The laboratory focuses on the research and development of tomographic methods and their applications across a wide range of scientific and engineering fields. It is involved in the development of μCT technology through collaboration with leading CT manufacturers worldwide. The laboratory is accredited according to ISO 17025 and conducts both contract and grant-funded research in collaboration with the industrial sector, where this technology has a wide range of applications. Our portfolio of modern CT systems enables the analysis of a broad range of components and assemblies across numerous applications. Resolutions ranging from hundreds of micrometers to hundreds of nanometers can be achieved, allowing the analysis of a wide variety of shapes, sizes, and materials.
The Laboratory of Laser Spectroscopy focuses primarily on Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS), as well as related reference techniques, including inductively coupled plasma (ICP) methods and X-ray fluorescence (XRF), and complementary techniques such as Raman spectroscopy. The laboratory strives to advance research and achieve excellence in the field of LIBS through both fundamental and applied research, with a particular focus on the development of advanced instrumentation and analytical methodologies. In doing so, the laboratory supports the transfer of technology into industry and everyday applications.
