About event
We cordially invite everybody to the first edition of CEITEC Talks.
Our students will present their research topics in a clear, approachable, and compelling way, drawing inspiration from the TED Talk format.
CEITEC Talks are aimed at fostering cooperation and increasing awareness of CEITEC science (not only) among students.
Everyone is welcome, no registration necessary.

Title: Simulate Electron microscope in Your Laptop
Electrons in electron microscopes propagates as waves with a very small wavelength. Therefore, it has such a good resolution. But simulating such a wave is nearly impossible due to its computational requirements. Unless you know tricks to simplify it for your laptop computer. So far, almost no one knows how to do that.

Title: Let's Break It, It Will Work Better!
Topological insulators are exotic materials with many interesting applications in future electronic devices. However, they become even more interesting if we break them a bit in the right way. Let's explore together this exciting platform for quantum phenomena and why and how we want to form 2D magnetism on its surface.
