About event

Shannon completed her PhD at the John Innes Centre in 2021 before undertaking a post doc position. In 2022 she become a Trust Manager at the Food & Farming Discovery Trust where she worked to forward the charity’s aims of coordinating, promoting and delivering education around food, farming and the countryside to young people in Norfolk. In 2023, Shannon took on the role of ISP Programme Manager at the John Innes Centre before transitioning to her current role of Education Programme Coordinator. Within her current role, she is developing and administering a programme of existing and new educational and engagement activities, events and opportunities for local schools and school-age students. The programme aims to enthuse young people about plant and microbial science and to inspire them to consider pursuing a career in the sector. As part of her role Shannon also supports staff to engage with schools, and helps with post-event monitoring to demonstrate and measure impact.
