The pace of change has never been as fast as now and technological advances are seen as the solution to our ever-changing world. People, as integral members of nature, have always relied on their natural surroundings to inspire innovative solutions. Humans as a species are not alone in using and developing tools to capture competitive advantage, although the marvels of some highly advanced tools and technologies may ironically threaten our source of inspiration. This begs for a holistic approach that supports humanity’s advancement within the context of our resource limitations. This talk will highlight some of CEITEC’s technological advances and showcase how the laws of nature, as well as nature’s diversity, are crucial drivers of our inspiration.
