German biochemist, an expert on protein science and electron microscopy Wolfgang Baumeister, received an honorary doctorate from Masaryk University today. The current director of the Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry in Martinsried accepted the award at the auditorium of the Faculty of Law from the hands of Karel Říha, deputy director for science of CEITEC MU.
Professor Baumeister has the great merit at successfull establishent of laboratory of cryo-electron microscopy at CEITEC MU. This laboratory is a unique workplace with stat-of-the-art technology in Central and Eastern Europe.
