INTERNATIONAL Mini symposium on Nanorobotics in Biomedicine

About event

This exceptional scientific mini symposium will explore the cutting-edge field of Nanorobotics in Biomedicine, bringing together world-renowned experts from Koç University and CEITEC BUT.

Join us at CEITEC for an inspiring morning exploring how physical intelligence at the micro- and nanorobotics is transforming medicine.

Opening Remarks

  • doc. Ing. Ladislav Janíček, Ph.D., MBA, LL.M. – Rector, Brno University of Technology
  • H.E. Prof. Dr. Metin Feyzioğlu – Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to the Czech Republic

Invited Plenary Lecture

Prof. Metin Sitti

President, Koç University, Turkey · Former Director, Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems ·

Wireless Miniature Medical Robots: A New Frontier in Minimally-Invasive Healthcare

Wireless milli- and microscale medical robots can navigate, operate and remain in deep, hard-to-reach regions of the body. Prof. Sitti will showcase robots for targeted drug delivery, neural stimulation, clot lysis, liquid biopsy, biofluid pumping, cauterisation and hyperthermia. The talk will cover 3-D micro-printing, soft-composite fabrication and external magnetic, acoustic and optical actuation—charting a route toward less-invasive treatments for diseases now considered unreachable.

Keynote Lecture

Prof. RNDr. Martin Pumera

Group Leader, Future Energy & Innovation Lab, CEITEC, Brno University of Technology

Nanorobots in Biomedicine: Engineered Solutions for Health Challenges

Prof. Pumera will present tiny, self-propelled devices that break down antibiotic-resistant biofilms, enhance diagnostics and deliver site-specific therapies. He will discuss advances in propulsion, quantum materials, machine intelligence and 3-D printing that enable nanorobots to navigate complex biological milieus and elevate biomedical efficacy.
