The CEITEC Bioelectronics research team is seeking an outstanding applicant for a scientific position as a postdoctoral research fellow. The postdoctoral scholar shall work with testing of bioelectronic devices and concepts using in vitro and in vivo biological models. The research will feature deployment of biomedical microdevices for neural recording/stimulation and also electrosurgery. Collaboration with materials and device engineers in our team is critical. Also close collaboration with neuroscientists and pre-clinical researchers is envisioned

Expectations

  • Ability to carry out research projects independently, interpret data, and contribute to preparation of manuscripts.
  • Excellent team working skills, self-motivation, initiative and persistence.
  • Ability to exploit CEITEC BUT core facilities and laboratories (nano.ceitec.cz).
  • Act as a source of information and advice to other members of the group on scientific protocols and experimental techniques.
  • Ability to design and perform in vivo animal experiments.

Requirements

We are looking for highly-motivated researcher with a PhD in chemistry, biomedical engineering, applied physics/materials science, or related discipline:

  • The applicant must have a proven track record in scientific research, evidenced by peer-reviewed publications.
  • Educational background neuroscience, or related discipline required.
  • Experience with 1) in vitro and in vivo models, and 2) electrophysiology recording, 3) experience with biological assays 4) Experience with cell culture techniques
  • Good communications skills and written and spoken English and Czech are required.
  • A PhD degree is not required at time of application, however proof of successful completion of a PhD program must be provided upon beginning employment.
