The CEITEC Nano Research Infrastructure at the Brno University of Technology is the largest cleanroom nano-centre in the Czech Republic. It provides complex equipment, expertise, and methods for R&D in nanotechnology and advanced materials. The facility includes materials science equipment, nanofabrication, nano-characterisation, structural analysis, and X-ray computed tomography. We provide scientists with personal access to state-of-the-art scientific equipment and analytical services.

We are inviting applications from qualified research candidates for the Research Infrastructure Specialist position in the CEITEC Nano facility. The specialist will be responsible for operating scientific instruments, providing instrument training and guidance to our users (students, researchers, commercial customers, etc.). He/she will participate in daily operations of the core facility laboratories, specifically the Advanced Chemical laboratory with a possible extension to the Nanocharacterization cleanroom laboratory. Suitable candidates should have experience of working in chemical laboratory, equipment operation with appropriate parameters, and research.

Responsibilities
- Supervise scientific instruments, including support and training of users, routine maintenance, and communication with service.
- Conduct “full-service” projects and measurements ordered by academic and commercial customers.
- Support the daily operation of the Advanced Chemical laboratory with a possible extension to the Nanocharacterization cleanroom laboratory.
- Assist the head of the laboratory and other staff in developing and enforcing safety and operational protocols.
- Support selection, tenders, and installation of new instruments.
Qualifications
- M.Sc., Ph.D., or equivalent degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or related field.
- Knowledge of safety and health issues concerning laboratory equipment and operations, hazardous chemicals, waste disposal, and handling gases.
- Experience in general chemical work, laboratory procedures, and process development.
- Previous hands-on experience in any of the following techniques is welcome:
- Optical methods (UV-VIS, DLS, FTIR),
- Electrochemical methods (Zeta potential analysis, Impedance spectroscopy),
- Chromatography (GC, LC),
- Mass spectroscopy (MS),
- Rheology.
- Experience in equipment troubleshooting, maintenance and repair is welcome.
- Experience with research or cleanroom operations is an advantage.
- High energy, self-motivated with excellent communication skills. Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- English in written and spoken form for daily use.
- Position is suitable for absolvent and early-career candidates.
