Admission Process

The CEITEC PhD School offers two fully English-taught PhD programmes:

Each programme has its own specific evaluation criteria, but both follow a two-round admission process:

Round 1: Interview with the Supervisor

  1. Online Registration and Document Submission
Start by completing the online registration form and uploading the required documents.
  2. Application Check
The PhD Studies Manager reviews your application for completeness and eligibility.
  3. Supervisor Review
If your application meets the criteria, it is forwarded to the relevant supervisor for evaluation.
  4. Interview Invitation
Selected candidates are invited for an individual interview with the supervisor (pre-interview).
  5. Notification and Confirmation
Candidates who are selected for the second round will receive information about the date and place of the interview with the Admission Committee. You will need to reply within 3 days by e-mail and confirm your attendance.

Round 2: Interview with the Admission Committee

  • Interview Format

The second-round interview is conducted in English and lasts approximately 30 minutes. It may take place in person or online via Zoom, especially for international applicants. Your communication skills in English will be evaluated throughout the interview.

The Admission Committee includes at least three members, such as group leaders, senior researchers, or members of the Doctoral Board.

  • Presentation Requirement

As part of the interview, each candidate is required to give a short presentation. The length and structure of the presentation depend on the selected PhD programme.

Final Selection

Please note that meeting the formal requirements and passing the interview does not guarantee admission.
Due to the limited number of positions, only the top-ranked candidates will be offered a place. Additional assessment may be required if necessary. The written notification of the final decision will be sent within 15 days after the interview with the admission committee.
