Prof. Ing. Jozef Kaiser, Ph.D., is a Professor of Applied Physics at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Brno University of Technology. In 1997, he obtained his Ing. degree in Physical Engineering, followed by a Ph.D. in Physical and Materials Engineering in 2001. In 2005, he completed his habilitation in Applied Physics, and in 2013, he was appointed Professor in the same field. His academic education and qualifications are closely linked to long-term research in plasma physics, laser spectroscopy, X-ray optics, and advanced methods for materials imaging and analysis.
Prof. Kaiser has been working at Brno University of Technology since 2001. Since 2011, he has been the Head of the X-ray Micro- and Nanotomography Research Group at CEITEC Brno University of Technology, where he focuses on the development of advanced X-ray imaging methods and their applications in materials research. His scientific activities focus primarily on laser-induced microplasma spectroscopy (LIBS, LIFS), X-ray radiography and microtomography, plasma generation and diagnostics, capillary discharges, X-ray lasers, and theoretical modeling of discharges.
An important part of his work is also teaching, with a long-standing focus on physics, optics, photonics, and metrological physics. Throughout his career, he has developed extensive international collaborations with research institutions across Europe while connecting fundamental research with practical applications and cooperation with industrial partners.
