1. Cells – mechanical properties

  • Instruments: JPK NanoWizard 3 (+ Olympus IX81/FV1200 – BF, fluorescence/confocal m.), JPK Nanowizard 4XP (+ Leica DMi 8 optical/ fluorescence m.)
  • Service description: Living cells in either standard plastic Petri dish (TPP 93040) or special confocal dish (consult us for a list of compatible dishes). Force Mapping of cell cultures, mechanical characterization of cardiomyocytes. Possible combination with optical microscopy (bright field, fluorescence) – independent/overlay imaging with AFM. Standard CO2 incubator and small flow box available in the lab. UV sterilization of the room and workspace every day.


2. Cells - imaging

  • Instruments: JPK NanoWizard 3, Bruker Dimension Icon, JPK Nanowizard 4XP (+ Leica DMi 8 optical/ fluorescence m.)
  • Service description: Living cells in either standard plastic Petri dish (TPP 93040) or special confocal dish (consult us for a list of compatible dishes). Fixed cells (PFA) on a glass slide. Modes: contact mode, QI, PF-QNM, Force Volume. Possible combination with optical microscopy (bright field, fluorescence) – independent/overlay imaging with AFM. Standard CO2 incubator and small flow box available in the lab. UV sterilization of the room and workspace every day.


3. Biomolecules - imaging

  • Instruments: JPK NanoWizard 3, Bruker Dimension Icon, Bruker Dimension FastScan, NTMDT Solver Next, NTMDT NTgra Vita
  • Service description: AFM imaging of biomolecules (proteins, DNA, macromolecules, and biopolymers) and their complexes. Immobilization on mica (muscovite), other materials (HOPG, silicon, metal electrodes) can also be used. Methods: tapping mode, QI, PF-QNM, Force Volume.


4. Nano-objects imaging

  • Instruments: JPK NanoWizard 3, Bruker Dimension Icon, Bruker Dimension FastScan, NTMDT Solver Next, NTMDT NTgra Vita
  • Service description: AFM imaging of nano-objects (nanoparticles, nanotubes, nanorods, etc.) and their complexes. Immobilization on mica (muscovite), other materials (HOPG, silicon, metal electrodes) can also be used. Methods: tapping mode, QI, PF-QNM, Force Volume.


5. Raman-AFM combined microscopy

  • Instruments: Bruker Dimension Icon + Renishaw Raman Microscope


6. Raman microscopy

  • Instruments: Renishaw Raman Microscope
  • Service description: Raman microscopy mapping of chemical entities in the nanomaterial, biomolecular complexes, and biosamples.


7. Electrochemical measurements

  • Instruments: Autolab PGSTAT302N
  • Service description: High-end electrochemical analyzer (potentiostat/galvanostat) for voltammetry, amperometry, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) on various electrodes and surfaces. Possibility of 2-channel measurements, high sensitivity, low noise. SW Autolab Nova for data evaluation.


8. Nanodeposition system

  • Instruments: Scienion SciFlexarrayer S3
  • Service description: Non-contact (ink-jet) deposition of pico- and nano- liter droplets of samples onto diverse substrates. Positioning of the droplets with micrometer precision, creation of various patterns and arrays, protein chip fabrication. Immobilization of proteins and other biomolecules on specific positions in controlled temperature and humidity.


9. Fluorescence scanner

  • Instruments: Innopsys InnoScan 1100 AL
  • Service description: Fluorescence scanning of protein, glycan, DNA, cell, and other arrays or fluorescently labeled samples. The substrate dimensions are limited to microscope slides. Resolution down to 0.5 um/px. Three fluorescence channels (ex/em): 488/520, 532/572, 635/675 nm. Autosampler for 24 slides. Data evaluation in SW Mapix.


10. SPR biosensor

  • Instruments: Bionavis SPR Navi 210A
  • Service description: Two-channel SPR (bio)sensor based on surface plasmon resonance. Characterization of optical properties of thin layers in solution and dry state and measurement of their changes in real-time. The instrument is a true goniometric SPR providing a wide angular range. The use of 2 laser wavelengths allows measuring the refractive index and layer thickness. Combination with simultaneous electrochemical measurements is possible. Label-free size and characterization of biomolecular interactions with one binding partner immobilized on the surface, the other free in solution. Determination of kinetic parameters and binding constants, concentration measurement of various analytes.


11. Scanning of upconversion luminescence

  • Instrument: Labrox scanner
  • Service description: Scanning of upconversion luminescence from surfaces, including microtiter plates, nitrocellulose membranes, or gels. Excitation at 980 nm, measurement of emission at 540 or 810 nm. The additional possibility of multiplexing with common fluorescence dyes (FITC, TRITC) and absorbance measurements. Evaluation of average intensities in microtiter plate wells or creation of 2D map of upconversion signal


12. Multielectrode array recording of cellular potential

  • Instrument: Multichannel MEA2100Lite (including stimulator)
  • Service description: Recording and analyzing voltage signals via Multichannel MEA2100-Mini system. Neuronal, cardiac, or other cells need to be cultured on MEA chips (consult us for details).
