About the position:
The Head of the Operations Department manages a seven-member team that provides support and service to the institute in the areas of OHS and fire protection, public procurement, legal matters, equipment and building management.
We are currently looking for a candidate who will cover the complete agenda of the department and effectively lead a work team with the aim of implementing the requirements of the institute's management into everyday operational activities with a guarantee of a high standard of implemented processes. We are not looking for an expert in all the agendas of the operations department, but a person with insight into the given areas, who is a natural leader and can cover this broad area with the professional help of individual members of the department.

What will be Your Responsibilities?
- Managing the operations department agenda, including developing methodologies within the department's scope
- Managing the activities of employees in the operations department and supporting their professional and career development
- Coordination and planning of construction modifications and repairs of buildings and technological equipment
- Coordination of operational matters of buildings under the management of the institute, including newly built spaces in the MUNI BioPharma Hub
- Coordination of the institute's central purchases and management of the public procurement agenda
- Coordination of the OHS agenda and fire protection agenda
- Preparation and updating of internal regulations related to the operation of the institute
- Conceptual development of the department's activities in line with the institute's strategic plan
- Cooperation with other departments at a given level within the organizational structure, with analogous departments within MU, in particular the MU Rectorate and the Bohunice University Campus Administration.
What Should You Be Like?
- Secondary/Higher education degree
- Experience in a university environment is an advantage (not a requirement)
- Experience with investment construction or ensuring the operation of buildings is an advantage, not a requirement
- Experience with public procurement is an advantage, not a requirement
- Managerial competencies including experience with team management
- Communicative knowledge of the English language, both spoken and written
- Excellent knowledge of the Czech language is a requirement
- Systematic and responsible approach to work, diligence, organizational and communication skills, proactivity, teamwork.
