Brno

Located in the heart of Central Europe, Brno is the second-largest city in the Czech Republic and the vibrant capital of the South Moravian region. Known for its strong academic tradition and innovative research environment, Brno is one of the country’s leading hubs for science and technology, with six universities including Masaryk University and Brno University of Technology. The city has earned an international reputation as a major centre of electron microscopy, supported by institutions such as the Institute of Scientific Instruments of the Czech Academy of Sciences and globally recognized companies including Thermo Fisher Scientific and TESCAN.

At the same time, Brno offers a relaxed and walkable city centre rich in history and architecture, with landmarks such as Špilberk Castle, the Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul, and the UNESCO-listed Villa Tugendhat—combining a dynamic scientific environment with an inviting cultural atmosphere.

More information about Brno can be found at Go To Brno and Brno Convention Bureau.
