Abstract
Beside the cell wall in plants the membrane, also in animal kingdom, is an important barrier that must be kept intact. It is a continuum where cargoes are delivered and recycled, where signalling events take place, where traffic occurs vigorously when cellular growth is happening. Thus, the plasma membrane as an interface that has to be maintained and the sub-cellular trafficking process that facilitate this maintenance should receive even more attention. This becomes recently increasingly noticeable also in plant adaptation to environmental changes.
