About event
Omics data infrastructures are the invisible yet vital foundation of modern biological research, supporting the collection, storage, analysis, and sharing of large datasets in genomics, proteomics, and healthcare. This lecture examines the development and implementation of such infrastructures in the Czech Republic and Europe, focusing on international projects like ELIXIR, GDI, and EOSC. We will explore the necessity of FAIR data principles, the role of robust infrastructures in enabling responsible AI use, and the challenges of managing sensitive data. Ethical and legislative hurdles across Europe will also be discussed, highlighting how federated approaches can provide effective solutions.
