Bio
Šárka Pospíšilová is a respected scientist specializing in genetic and cancer-related diseases. At CEITEC Masaryk University, she leads a research team focused on studying the molecular mechanisms involved in the development of hematological malignancies and inherited genetic disorders. Her work includes identifying molecular markers in leukaemia and lymphoma and developing new diagnostic methods that contribute to more accurate diagnosis and more effective treatment of these conditions.
She also plays a key role as the national coordinator of the European 1+ Million Genomes (link in Czech) and Genome of Europe initiative, which aims to collect representative genomic data from all European countries and build the infrastructure for sharing and using this data across Europe. The initiative supports the advancement of personalized medicine and improved diagnostic tools throughout the EU.
