Sip of Science: Uncovering brain functions with MRI

About event

MRI is non-invasive imaging method. Therefore, it is an important tool for exploration and uncovering mechanisms of brain functions. One of the features of MRI is ability to scan many parameters of the explored object. In this talk we will go through MRI parameters suitable for characteristics of the dynamic nature of brain functions and we will focus on functional MRI (fMRI). The talk will incorporate theoretical background, practical application and interesting research areas, such as detection of early stages of dementia or study of brain’s waste facility system.
