[22 October, 2025] CEITEC Brno University of Technology hosted the International Industry-Academia Symposium on Clean Energy Storage: From 2D Materials to 3D Printing, bringing together leading researchers and industry partners to explore the latest advancements in sustainable energy technologies.

Chaired by Prof. Martin Pumera, the symposium featured cutting-edge presentations on nanomaterials, plasma processing, hybrid carbon systems, and additive manufacturing. The event highlighted how collaboration between academia and industry drives innovation in clean energy storage, sensing, and advanced materials design.

Key speakers included:

  • Prof. Juan Ramón Sánchez Valencia, CSIC, Spain – Functional metal oxide nanostructures via plasma processing
  • Prof. Ángel Barranco, CSIC, Spain – Multifunctional conformal coatings for photonic and energy applications
  • Prof. Uroš Cvelbar, Jozef Stefan Institute, Slovenia – Hybrid carbon nanostructures for advanced energy storage
  • Prof. Martin Pumera, CEITEC-VUT – From 3D printing and 2D materials in energy storage and generation
  • Prof. Michal Otyepka, University of Palacky, Olomouc, Czech Republic – 2D chemistry of fluorographene for energy storage and catalysis
  • Dr. Milan Matějka, Dr. Stanislav Stříteský, IQS Nano, Brno, Czech Republic – From nano to macro: 3D printed electrode templates
  • Dr. Keval K. Sonigara, CEITEC-VUT – Flexible energy storage and sensing systems based on 2D materials
  • José Ferreira De Sousa Junior, CSIC, Spain – Plasma-engineered transparent Pt nanoelectrodes for space photovoltaics

The symposium emphasized the importance of cross-disciplinary collaboration and open innovation in addressing global energy challenges. CEITEC continues to foster international partnerships between science and industry to accelerate the transition toward sustainable technologies. The symposium was held as part of the Angstrom project, supported by TAČR and the European Union.
