Bio
Zbyněk Zdráhal has led the Proteomics Core Facility at CEITEC Masaryk University since 2011. The facility focuses on analysing protein composition in a wide range of samples, including viruses, bacteria, plants, and humans. The results of these analyses support research projects of numerous groups not only at Masaryk University and across the Czech Republic, but also internationally. At the same time, he leads the Proteomics research group, which focuses on developing proteomic analysis methods to obtain the most comprehensive information possible from studied samples. He collaborates on a wide range of projects in biochemistry, molecular biology, microbiology, plant and agricultural sciences, and biomedicine.
Zbyněk Zdráhal studied analytical chemistry at the Faculty of Science, Masaryk University. He further developed his expertise in analytical chemistry at the University of Antwerp, and after returning, shifted his research focus to proteomics and protein analysis using mass spectrometry. He is also an academic researcher at the National Centre for Biomolecular Research and was appointed professor in 2019.
