General rules
Biophotonics Core Facility is a light microscopy facility at CEITEC BUT, available to both academic and industry users. Biophotonics Core Facility instruments are in open access mode and can be operated directly by a user after appropriate training.
Prospective users should first contact Biophotonics Core Facility staff to schedule an appointment to discuss their project and identify the appropriate instrumentation (a list of available instruments can be found in the Equipment section). Following this meeting, training will be arranged. Training for each instrument is on an individual basis and is mandatory. Depending on the system and user skills, training can take up to 2 - 3 hours. Upon successful completion, users will gain access to the Biophotonics Core Facility and its Booking system. Biophotonics Core Facility staff will provide assistance with user samples during the first acquisitions if needed.
Training by anyone other than Biophotonics Core Facility staff is strictly prohibited.
User responsibilities
Before beginning, users should verify that the workspace and instrument are clean and in good condition. If not, they must inform Biophotonics Core Facility staff and report the issue. Each user is responsible for leaving the workspace clean after use, with particular care given to immersion objectives. Objectives must be cleaned using appropriate lens-cleaning tissues. If any part of the instrument is found to be non-functional, it should be reported to Biophotonics Core Facility staff immediately.

Reservations are charged according to the current Price List.
Acknowledgement
Since our equipment was purchased with public resources and users are not charged the full cost, they must acknowledge the Biophotonics Core Facility in their presentations, posters, or publications (including bachelor’s and master’s theses). For the current version of the acknowledgement, please check the Acknowledgement.
Please send us the publications that include the Biophotonics Core Facility acknowledgment. Users who publish data obtained with Biophotonics Core Facility equipment or assistance without proper acknowledgment will be charged the full price.
