The Biophotonics Core Facility supports the principles of Open Science and responsible research data management. All research data generated using our facility should be handled in accordance with the Open Science Policy of Brno University of Technology (BUT) — ensuring transparency, accessibility, and reproducibility of scientific results, while respecting ethical standards, intellectual property rights, and data protection regulations.

Researchers are encouraged to make their data FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) and to share datasets in trusted repositories whenever possible, following the guidelines provided by VUT Open Science.

Core Facility Data Management

Data accesibility Computers including the imaging systems are connected to the BUT network allowing logins with user authentication and data transfer to local server as well as to CESNET.
Preffered way of data transfer to users The data servers are accessible from users‘ computational resources using standard network communication protocols. Biophotonics Core Facility does not take responsibility for data stored on local PCs. Using USB flashdisks or other external devices are not recommended for data transfer.
Data security Windows server. Each user has their own login and password and can't see or access other users data.
Data ownership Data are owned by the user researchers and they are required to acknowledge the BCF and Czech Bioimaging funding in their presentations, posters, and publications (including bachelor’s and master’s theses).
