Assembly and maturation of flaviviruses

Supervisor Pavel Plevka, Ph.D.
Research Group Structural Virology

The project will investigate how flavivirus particles assemble and mature into infectious virions. Using cryo-electron microscopy, cryo-electron tomography, and complementary biochemical approaches, the work will characterize structural intermediates of virus assembly and maturation and determine how viral proteins, membranes, and host-cell factors regulate these processes.
